Virginia Kim (she/her)
VYK Works LLC is founded by Virginia Kim, an employment attorney and professional trainer with over 20 years of legal experience and 15+ years focused on employment law and workplace compliance. She designs and delivers attorney-led compliance training for executives, managers, and employees on high-risk topics including anti-harassment and retaliation, workplace accommodations, leave law compliance, wage and hour issues, executive conduct, and emerging risks such as AI in employment decisions.
Virginia has 25+ years of instructor-led training experience, including extensive in-person and virtual facilitation across industries and organizational levels—from interns and frontline employees to senior leadership and the C-suite. Her background includes law firm practice at Sidley Austin LLP, Valorem Law Group, and Scharf Banks Marmor LLC, where she counseled corporate clients and litigated complex employment and commercial matters.
In addition to her legal credentials, Virginia earned her Dimensions in Diversity certification from the Graham School at the University of Chicago and has formal training in improv and stand-up comedy through the Second City Training Center, which she uses to create highly engaging, realistic, and behavior-focused training that people actually remember. Her approach combines legal accuracy, practical risk management, and human insight—helping organizations move beyond checkbox compliance toward defensible, effective workplace practices.
Virginia earned her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and is admitted to practice in Illinois.
